Exhibition on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Bohumil Vavrou\u0161ek (1875-1939) and the 100th anniversary of the publication of his book D\u011bdina [The Village]. The documentation of the countryside created by Bohumil Vavrou\u0161ek in the interwar period is a very valuable part of the documentation archive of vernacular architecture. The aim of the exhibition is to present the circumstances of its creation and to place it in the context of Vavrou\u0161ek\u2018s photographic work. The selection of photographs in the exhibition includes ancient rural buildings from Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia, Slovakia and Subcarpathian Ruthenia, sacred buildings, photographs from the unpublished publications M\u011bste\u010dko<\/em> [The Small Town] and Emp\u00edr v \u010cech\u00e1ch<\/em> [The Empire Style in Bohemia], and photographs for Liter\u00e1rn\u00ed atlas \u010ceskoslovensk\u00fd<\/em> [The Literary Atlas of Czechoslovakia] and Atlas \u010deskoslovensk\u00fdch v\u00fdtvarn\u00fdch um\u011blc\u016f<\/em> [The Atlas of Czechoslovak Visual Artists]. \u25cf The exhibition was prepared by the Association for the Renewal of the Village and the Small Town (SOVAMM) and the Masaryk Institute and Archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
